The people of Limerick eagerly await your visit for TWC2023 and, thanks for our Official Social Partners House Limerick, Treaty City Brewery, Amber Nightclub and the International Rugby Experience, we have an action-packed social schedule planned in the pubs, museums and restaurants around the city, ranging from live Irish music and dance to tasting delicious local cuisine and visiting the home of rugby legends.

  • Late Night Closing Party in Amber Nightclub from 23:00 until late

    • While this party is now SOLD OUT, you can go on a Waiting List for tickets by clicking here.

    • There are lots of other late night bars in Limerick, including Nancy Blakes and Pharmacia, which will also be hosting World Cup celebrations on Sat 5th Aug so don’t worry - you will still have a brilliant final night, whichever venue you end up in!

Limerick is a city famous for its friendly locals, rich culture and lively bar scene so we encourage you to make the most of what is on your doorstep over your stay.

 

Now that you have your team's match schedule, here are a few suggestions of places to visit and experiences to try out - remember that most of the options are open 7 days so you can work a trip around your own match schedule. And you will be guaranteed a warm welcome or "Cead Mile Failte" whatever day you decide to visit!

Sunday 30th July 2023

  • The All Ireland Football Final is one of the highlights of the Irish sporting calendar and the match will be live in all pubs in Limerick.

​

  • Kick off is at 15:30 with pubs starting to fill around 14:30 so, if you intend watching the game, get in early for a good seat!

Monday 31st July 2023

  • The International Rugby Experience is a brand new, interactive celebration of what it takes to become a Legend of Rugby!

  • Move through 6 awe-inspiring stages centered around World Rugby's values of Passion, Discipline, Integrity, Solidarity & Respect.

  • Put your skills to the test over 1.5 hours as famous faces take you through virtual running, kicking, handling & strength trials.

  • TWC2023 Opening Ceremony in University of Limerick from 18:30-20:30, including Nations Parade

  • First two matches of TWC2023 at 21:00:

Friday 4th August 2023

  • Fennessy's Bar

    • Established in 1904, this is one of Limerick’s oldest pubs, well known for its legendary pint in traditional surroundings.

  • JJ Bowles Pub​

    • Regarded as the oldest pub in Limerick, this hidden gem is located on the banks of the River Shannon

  • Tom Collins Bar

    • This small bar close to O'Connell St is the perfect stop for good gin, draft beer and whiskey.

Saturday 5th August 2023

  • Street Festival​ in Medieval Quarter from 15:00 until 22:30

    • Hosted on Nicholas Street by Treaty City Brewery

    • Free Entry - no tickets required

    • Pedestrianised Streets / Road Closures in Place

    • Must finish by 22:30 sharp due to License / Residents

    • Shuttle Buses @ €5pp from UL at 3pm, 4pm, 5pm & 6pm​

      • It's a 5KM (1 hr) walk from UL to Nicholas St ​
      • Bus is highly recommended due to lack of alternatives

      • Bus leaves sharp on the hour from The Stables

  • Late Night Closing Party in Amber Nightclub from 23:00
